Stop Thinking How Life Was Supposed to Be

If only more people would realize that happiness is a state of mind, something that you have to work hard for, instead of a natural occurrence or a blessing from the sky, maybe more people would be happy.

But the thing is, people are too focused on achieving the “ideal” situation to realize that the situation they are in right now is probably what’s best for them. And when they go searching for that other thing that doesn’t really exist, they are bound to fail miserably.

They are only setting themselves up for failure and frustration. This in turn makes them unhappy. And they do so without realizing it. They continue to do it and they’re caught in a vicious cycle of searching for something they can’t have and when they fail, they become miserable.

And that is really sad. People who are happy with their lives know that true happiness doesn’t mean that you have to be all smiles and happy 24/7. It means that you’re positive enough to see the good things in your life and use these to make yourself feel good despite of some things not going your way.
